Iam's Company & Best Friends 4-H Club (the Berrien County dog club for 4-H'ers with disabilities) has chosen a four year

COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT

that will benefit

BERRIEN COUNTY'S ANIMAL CONTROL.

We are not asking for money.  Best Friends is asking for your Iams or Eukanuba dog food PROOF OF PURCHASE UPC BARS.

Please note: Best Friends Animal Control Community Project began on 09/10/2007.  This program will continue until 12/31/2012

B.F. needs your Iams & Eukanuba Dog Food "Proof of Purchase" UPC Bars!

GOAL FOR 2009 = 3,000 POUNDS

TOTAL POUNDS RECEIVED AT OF TODAY'S DATE = 880 POUNDS

2160 MORE POUNDS TO GO!

If you would like to contribute your IAMS OR EUKANUBA CANNED DOG FOOD, DRY DOG FOOD OR BISCUIT "PROOF OF PURCHASE" BAR CODES, please send them to

Best Friends 4-H Club

Berrien County Animal Control Community Service Project

434 Western Avenue

Benton Harbor, MI 49022

This is how our three year program works....

For every 400 pounds of Iams or Eukanuba DRY, CANNED OR BISCUITS UPC BARS Best Friends collects between January, 2008 and January, 2012 and mails into the Iams Company, Iams will issue a coupon for 40 pounds of FREE DOG FOOD!

That's right!  40 pounds of FREE DOG FOOD!  Best Friends members will then deliver the coupons to Berrien County Animal Control (located at 9204 Huckleberry Road, Berrien Center, MI 49102; Phone: 269-471-7531) as the coupons come in.

Here's another advantage....At the end of each year, Best Friends Coordinators, will add up all the dog food pounds B.F. members have collected, divide the sum total by how many members we have that year, and each member will have earn X amount of Communality Service Hours to help him or her comply with Community Service Hours needed to graduate from high school.

Example... for the year 2008, B.F. members collected 480 pounds worth of Iams and Eukanuba UPC Scanning Bars.  We had 18 members.  480 ÷ 18 = 26.67 Community Service Hours per member (Happily, the leaders rounded it off to 27 hours for each member.)

Not a bad deal, eh?
