Welcome to the Berrien County Youth Fair Dog Department 9 - Division
2; Canine Exhibitor with Disabilities Obedience and Agility Judging
Program!
The Berrien
County Youth Fair Canine Exhibitor with Disabilities canine
competition and evaluation is one of Best Friends 4-H club members
yearly project goals. Best Friends leaders would like you to
know the history behind this wonderful program...
The obedience and agility
therapy judging procedures and guidelines were specifically designed for the
forgotten handler of our community...the life challenged exhibitor.
Developing a canine judging
program began in nineteen ninety-five when ten dedicated women
and one dedicated man came
together and decided to design a valid canine obedience and agility
judging program for our life challenged exhibitors.
Those women were;

These ten committed
explorers held many a discussion while studying the challenges that
faced our forgotten canine handlers. Finally, after several years
of experimentation, adaptation and meeting upon meeting, (not to
mention all the typing, correcting, negating and retyping) of
the canine obedience and agility concepts, these proactive people came up with a program that will last for years to come, yet,
continue to grow as it meets the new life challenges of our
exhibitors.
