Thank you for taking the time to inquire about Best Friends 4-H Club for the forgotten youth of Berrien County, Michigan...the 4-H'er with disabilities within the age range of five to twenty-six years.

Since 1988, Best Friends 4-H leaders and volunteers have worked one on one with our Down Syndrome, Dyslexic, Autistic, Asperger, emotionally troubled, paraplegic, mutes, deaf, hydrocephalic, mentally slow, hyperactive, attention deficient and physically challenged members, teaching each member the fine art of canine handling.

Best Friends is the only 4-H canine therapy project club in Berrien County that provides therapeutic, as well as, an educational and enjoyable life experience for children with life challenges using volunteer team canines...that is to say, the child nor the child's family has to own a dog.

Best Friends is the only year round 4-H Club in America that has a twelve week summer dog project training program specifically designed for the encouragement of canine therapy and independent comprehension skills of every day life for our members.  At the same time, each 4-H'er is working towards his or her completion of the club's 4-H Canine Summer Project...competing in the Berrien County Youth Fair in the Canine Exhibitor with disabilities, Department 9 - Division 2!

Stop by for a visit.  You're always welcome.

Sincerely,

Linda M. Shannon-Chaillet;                 Best Friends 4-H Club Coordinator

And

Vicki Williams:                                    Best Friends 4-H Club Co-Coordinator
